Benetel dmonstrates world's first CPRI Air Interface Test Platform at 3GSM World Congress in Cannes.
The Common Public Radio Interface (CPRI) has defined publicly available specifications for the key internal interface of radio base stations between the Radio Equipment Control (REC) and the Radio Equipment (RE). This allows the interworking of equipment from different vendors.
The CPRI Air Interface Test Platform will be demonstrated for the first time at the 3GSM World Congress in Cannes, France 14th - 17th February, 2005 on the Remec Stand F55 in Hall 2. It provides the testing environment for characterising Remote Radio Heads working over a CPRI interface. The test platform manages and controls the Remote Radio Head via the CPRI link.
Jeff Clancy, Benetel's Director, Business Development, said that they have created a version of their successful Fully Automated System Test (FAST) platform for this task. The FAST CPRI Radio Module Automated Testing suite provides automatic testing of all relevant TS 25.141 parameters. Users can control the signal generators and vector analyzer via a powerful graphical interface. "Typically between 50% and 60% of Wireless product development time is spent on Design Verification Testing", said Jeff, "and FAST can drastically reduce this while simultaneously improving the quality of the final product". Benetel plan to offer a compliance testing service for customers, or they can purchase the platform.
